I prefer to do the session at your home field/court. 

For sports that shoot outdoors, I monitor the weather when the day is closer to ensure we have a plan for the day.  If there is weather, we can move inside. 

For a team of 15-20, plan for 3 hours. Every team is a little different.  This is a Varsity Baseball sample schedule:

10:00 - 10:15: Entire Team photos
10:15 - 10:45 Senior Individual/group shots
10:45 - 11:15 Jr. Individual/ Group shots
11:15 - 11:45  Sophomore Individual/Group Shots 11:45 - 12:15 Fresman Individual/Group shots

12:15 - 1:15 - Action/unique shots. This is the time if anyone wants to stay and do anything special.

I do these last because this may require changing the lighting setup.  

Show your personality!

I do several poses with the athletes. I will always start with a  “normal” pose to ensure we have a uniform look for banners and parents. 

I open it up to more fun/action shots. I stress to the players that this is their shoot, and they are welcome to bring props, past awards/medals, lettermen’s jackets…, or anything else that shows off their personalities.

The only guidelines I set are it has to be safe and shows the school/organzation in good taste.

The total time for banners depends on several factors. Normally, the longest process is the team's approval.  

Once photos are selected I will mock up a design and send for approval.  I will not place an order until all names/spellings have been verified by the athlete/family.  I've had this process be as short as 2 days and as long as 2 weeks.  

Banners arrive 3-4 days after all banners have been approved and the order has been placed. 

I like to have galleries completed 10-14 days after the shoot day. 

No.  I understand this is a huge trend, but I will not do fire shoots for insurance and liability reason.

Yes. I do include a fog machine and also have used water for Media day Sessions.
